LABERGUM

The Ergonomics Laboratory of Universidade do Minho, in addition to providing educational support for all the activities involving the labs equipment use, including the graduates, MSc. and PhD. students at the University of Minho, it develops and collaborates on research and development (R&D) projects in the subjects of Ergonomics, Occupational Safety and Hygiene, and, finally, it also provides specialized services in the same areas.

The Laboratory carry out several type of studies, namely:

i. ERGONOMICS AND SAFETY

- Occupational Ergonomics

.Ergonomics Workplace Analysis

.Risk Evaluation due to repetitive movements

.Risk evaluation in Manual Materials Handling

- Anthropomteric studies of restricted populations

- Thermal Environments analysis in workplaces

- Lighting evaluation in workplaces 

ii. NOISE AND VIBRATION

- Acoustical evaluations, according to the Decreto-Lei 9/2007, de 17 de Janeiro:

. Annoynace due to noise (companies and privates)

. Environmental noise emission (companies)

- Occupational noise assessment 

- Occupational vibrations assessment 
- Evaluation of noise in 2-wheel bikes (imported vehicles)
